Our Story

William “Pete” Kennedy, began his real estate career with Charles Roberson Realty, Inc. around 1980. That was the first African American real estate company in Salisbury, NC, established in 1974. After about 3 years, Pete decided to open his own real estate firm in 1983, named William R. Kennedy Realty, Inc. Pete assisted hundreds of families in and around the Rowan County area with purchasing and selling real estate. His daughter Walillian began working in the firm assisting with his rental property management part of the business, around 1990 at the tender age of 15 years old. Other family members including his daughter Jacqueline and son Ray also worked at different times in the family business. His wife, Hazel has always been a supportive silent partner over the years.

This firm remained open until 2018 when Pete made the decision to work with Apple House Realty. He and his daughter Walillian worked with Apple House for 2 years. In June of 2020, we made the decision to reopen a family business. We believe that true economic empowerment begins with home ownership. Our community has been suppressed for decades with trying to achieve economic leverage to not only have a good financial foundation but to leave a legacy for generations to come. The largest purchase the average American makes is purchasing a home. We would like to assist with building that economic foundation not just for you now but for the generations to come after your purchase or sell.

Walillian White’s Biography

I have been around the real estate industry since a young age, when my father began to operate his company, William R. Kennedy Realty, Inc. I became licensed as an agent in 2000, after graduating from North Carolina Central University with a degree in Business and a concentration in Marketing. I became a Broker in 2001. I have worked with my father for over 20 years in the industry.

I am a dedicated wife and proud mother of 3 children. I am an active member of my church and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. I have a servant heart and enjoy assisting people in obtaining their dreams. I work diligently for my clients, whether I am assisting someone in purchasing a home or listing a property. I am patience and pride myself on working with many first-time home buyers and repeat buyers as well. I am here to serve and assist.

Pete Kennedy Biography

I am a graduate of The Realtors Institute and have over 35 years of real estate experience. As a member of the Salisbury Rowan Association of Realtors, I served on the Board of Directors as an Officer. I was also President of William R. Kennedy Realty for over 30 years.

My extensive public service includes 22 years on the Salisbury City Council. I have been Vice President of the N.C. League of Municipalities Risk Management Board of Trustees, a delegate to local, regional, state and national conferences creating policies for cities throughout the United States, and I retired from the Rowan Salisbury School System after 28 years as an educator.

I have served as Chairman of the Salisbury Rowan Community Action Agency which provides programs to the underserved population in our region. I also served as a Chairman of the First Legacy Community Credit Union, an agency providing banking services to the unbanked population in our region. I am past Chairman and Trustee at Southern City AME Zion Church. Currently, I serve on the Salisbury Community Foundation.

I am a graduate of Livingstone College with a BS degree in Business and UNCC with a Master’s degree in Guidance and Counseling.

I am excited to be in real estate full time now, and ready to serve sellers and buyers. I look forward to your call, texts, and emails.
